Eric has over 28 years of practice and has worked with small to mid-sized companies in all phases of their business activities. This includes formation and raising capital, protection of intellectual property, resolving disputes between owners, growth through mergers and acquisitions of similar or complementary businesses, and the sale and transfer of the businesses to the next generation or to other market players. Many of his clients have been 8(a) business development companies that have been involved in federal contracting pursuits or ventures. Eric’s tax experience has allowed him to structure the transactions in the most tax efficient manner. He has also represented businesses before the IRS, the U.S. Tax Court and various state taxing authorities on income and ad valorem tax issues.
Eric also has extensive experience in working with business owners and their families to address complex business succession, estate and gift planning issues. He assists clients in all stages of life to execute their estate planning goals through wills, living trusts, life insurance trusts and multi-generational trusts. He also assists individuals in administrating estates and trusts after the passing of loved ones and has served as a substitute or successor personal representative or trustee in difficult administration cases.
He assists physicians, dentists, orthodontists and their group practices in acquiring and setting up practices, and reviewing employment contracts as well as contracts with hospitals and insurers. He also ensures that these health professional business structures and activities comply with Stark Law, Anti-Kickback law, HIPPA Privacy laws and related regulations.
Eric enjoys spending time with family and friends in the great outdoors. He loves all that the West has to offer through fishing, skiing, mountain and road biking, camping, hiking, dirt biking, snowmobiling and snow biking.
